Retinoblastoma tumor treatment through direct chemotherapy into the ophthalmic artery is performed guided by imaging devices with anesthesia. This is possible through angiography. This method achieved remarkable results because, in many cases, it avoids the enucleation of the eye with retinoblastoma tumor.

This type of tumor affects the retina that mostly develops in children, infants, and even fetuses before birth. Common treatment methods for this tumor include surgery, cryotherapy, laser therapy, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.

This procedure is performed guided by imaging devices under light anesthesia. That is, a catheter will be inserted into the artery supplying blood to tumor through angiography and chemotherapy drugs will be injected directly into the tumor. This method has achieved very good results.
